Welcome to my blog. I am an older guy living near the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia with my wife. We are dealing with present day challenges like everybody else. Writing and photography help me to do this.
I have not had a successful life but I am doing well now. Took a great fall ten years ago but have not given up. I explore this with poetry. This is meant to express a positive message to anyone who has had major struggles especially in the areas of alcoholism, prescription meds, restless legs syndrome and ADHD. I went from living up high on Virginia Beach to being homeless and sleeping in the Walmart parking lot in my car. I bought a nice house for someone and her husband in the past. These are issues many have dealt with and all I have to say is that God is great. Not religion, not isms, not any of those things. Just real faith in the face of destruction. Watch for this in my poetry. I am doing fine now. This is for those who still struggle. I remember and think of you.
One Day Two Parts
Two time spans upon the sea
the first was full of storms
memories collected
of every thing done wrong.
Wretched clouds and tides took out
all the things were knocks
leaving homelessness decay
and flesh down in the rocks.
But then each day the second part
took over from the first
every time a mourning briefly
then afternoon desserts.
The seas fulfilled their mission
then blew away the storm
and the many parts of it
were in the mind no more.
While the birds began to play
or settled in their nests
someplace new
well who can say?
This day were no more tests.
